The Capacity Building Initiative on Inclusive/Community-Based Innovation for AU Member States was held from 10th to 12th December, 2018 at Reiz Continental Hotel, in Nigeria drawing over 100 participants from across Africa. The Initiative trained stakeholders from Member States who are at the front burner of implementation and integration of continental policies to fully grasp the essence and benefits of effectively exploring inclusive and community-based innovation in Africa.

The inauguration of the African Union Scientific, Research and Innovation Council (ASRIC) took place at Abuja – Nigeria on 27-29 November 2018. The delegates at the ASRIC Congress established the governance of ASRIC including, the Election of Bureau of ASRIC and the Organization of sub-scientific committee for the implementation of the mandate and promote increases awareness of the ASRIC. Advancing the understanding of ASRIC as an institutional platform that supports knowledge production across various fields of science for Africa’s socio-economic development.
